THE BEFORE

Somebody had convinced me that I should spend $1,200 a month with The Knot. What we got out of it was a 360-degree video and an occasional lead that was the same lead sent to everybody else.

Annual wedding revenue: ~$30K. Saturday rate: $3,500, sometimes less. The website contact form had been broken since February. The Knot listing was three years old and dormant.

We re-anchored the brand on weddings and rebuilt the pricing.

Diagnosed the positioning problem first: weddings could carry the property, the owners just hadn’t seen it yet. Reset the brand voice. Cut directory spend (Knot/WeddingWire) and reallocated to FBV-managed Meta. Rebuilt the inquiry-to-tour system. Walked the Saturday rate up four times in twelve months. Replaced the Airbnb income with weddings.
